Borrowers should not need a training session

Handing students the admin inventory UI creates mistakes and support load. A borrower shell answers “what do I have out?” and “can I request the kit?” without exposing desk tools.

The library card view supports identity at the self-checkout kiosk so borrowers can authenticate without staff typing names at the desk.

Roles stay separate

Borrower memberships get the borrower shell. Checkout staff and admins keep the full operational UI for the desk—inventory edits, returns, and overdue chasing stay with the people who run the room.

What borrowers never see

No bulk inventory admin, no plan settings, no unrelated workspace controls. The portal stays intentionally small so media programs can onboard students quickly.
